Harassment today: Pulling out hair. Some kid ran along the street and touched my hair. In the process he took some hair with him. I believe he didnât mean to take any.
Snatching a bottle. Some girl said something in Arabic to me. She snatched my bottle of water. She wasnât asking me for money or food in Arabic I believe. She only said one sentence and snatched the bottle away.
Gay asking if weâre gay. I knew the word for gay is Chaz in Arabic. We has on a motorized trike and followers us (me and Jeremy) through narrow streeets. He even showed gay porn up close. We followed us. After 15 or so intersection he left.
Touching in the face Some guy in a group of teens touched Jeremyâs face. He was walking in front of me. I raised my arm to prevent a blow to the bead with my forearm vertically automatically. One of them raised their arm . We continued our way.
Maybe we went through some bad area.
Military museum. Apparently in WW1 they already constructed U-Boots (none were powered by fission so theyâre audible). The Germans invented the Jet engine already in the end of WW2. The military museum was mostly about modern warfare but some part was also dedicated to the ancients. The development of guns/planes was interesting. I have seen some sticks that look like boomerangs. Apparently they carved special sticks to fight in a war. That doesnât make sense. Stone tools inflict more damage and metal tools are even more convenient for killing other people.

Getting cooked on the way to the palace
I donât know the culture in Egypt so sometimes it happens that Iâd do something that is socially not accepted.
Entering a mosqur with shoes
A woman noticed and presumably said that weâre not allowed in here with shoes.

Today we had some unpleasant encounters. This does not have to be the case. We were sitting near a shashlik place where we waited for our order to finish. A boy (10 maybe) can to ask to ask for food/money. He pointed to his food which bore a scar. He begged for food. He touched Jeremyâs leg and tried to his him to show his thankfulness. An older guy with a white flat hat on his head said something to the boy and the boy stepped back. I assume he said that we shouldnât be bothered. We decided to give some food that we ordered once it arrived. Jeremy let the kids to the store right next to us and let him buy some food. He was grateful and said goodbye. The old man witnessing said thank you.
I really like to encourage kids speaking English. Most of the time itâs boys with glasses. Usually they learn because of playing video games. Almost all of the people who sell you something in non touristic areas are not charging you more. So may times I cannot communicate what I have to pay. Usually a bottle is 10. I gave him It and pointed to the bottle. I was about to leave. The owner of the small shop said something and showed me their index finger and a full hand. I thought itâs 15 here and gave 5 more. When leaving the kid said âo itâs six you get 4 backâ.
This also happen in the metro đ. The price was 14cents to take the metro.
